International Maternal and Child Health - IMCH

International Maternal and Child Health (IMCH) is a leading research and education centre at Uppsala University that works for improved global health with special emphasis on women’s and children’s health and nutrition. The education and research programmes address the health challenges in low- and middle-income countries and in humanitarian crises. By developing and evaluating interventions and new strategies for tackling priority health problems, IMCH makes important contributions towards equitable global health.

Clinical Psychology in Healthcare

Our research concerns identifying, predicting, and treating disease-related emotional distress among those affected by the disease or close ones. Together with people with own experience of disease in one-self and close ones we develop, test, evaluate, and implement psychological interventions, several of these are webbased. We also investigate whether different recruitment methods and methods to support continued participation in research studies has an impact on recruitment and retention rates.

Our group hosts the strategic research programme Uppsala Psychosocial Care Programme (U-CARE), www.u-care.uu.se
