Improved equitable child survival in Rwanda

2015-04-17

Aimable Musafili, pediatrician from Rwanda and doctoral student at International Maternal and Child Health, shows in a new research report in Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health (http://jech.bmj.com/content/early/2015/04/13/jech-2014-204657.long) that Rwanda has been successful in achieving a drastic reduction in child mortality from the time of genocide in the 1990s up to now - and to reduce the gap in child survival between rural and urban areas, and between rich and poor families. The Rwanda minister of health Dr Agnes Binagwaho is one of the co-authors.
